I am a professor of higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University at Buffalo. I am a gender and organizational scholar who focuses on the ways in which federal, state, and institutional policy and norms shape the personal and professional lives of faculty, staff, and students. My most recent scholarship centers the experiences of student-mothers in US higher education as well as how faculty and staff navigate higher education’s ever-increasing work norms. I frequently share my research and facilitate workshops on these topics to help higher education workplaces be more equitable.
I earned my Ph.D. in Urban Education with a focus in Higher Education along with a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies from the University of Southern California, my M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, and my B.A. in English and French from UC Berkeley.
